Karl Rock is a 30 years old New Zealand-based YouTube vlogger and book writer. He wrote a book about his Journey to India titled How to Travel India. On his Channel discerption, he wrote that he left his career and home to explore India and build a new life in the country he loves most. During his visit to India, he found some interesting facts about Pakistan. However, I will talk about it early on. However, he visited India, got married there, and started a new life. If I talk about its status on YouTube, Karl joined YouTube on June 27, 2017. He currently has 306,508,262 views and 1.72 million subscribers on his YouTube Channel.

Karl Rock decided to visit Pakistan when he was on the way to explore Indian culture and traditions. He listened to so many stories of Pakistan and India; then he decided to visit Pakistan too. However, he gives so many comments on Pakistani culture, food, and tradition. I can’t summarize all his views in a single blog. Precisely I mentioned some of its remarks about Pakistan below:

Karl Rock falls in love with Lahore as he did with New Delhi. In one of his videos, he says that New Delhi and Lahore were known as one city during the British era, which is why he saw so many similarities between the two of them. Culture and cuisine of Pakistan Karl to say that, along with India, I had never seen a country with such rich traditions in food. He first visited Lahore; he entered Pakistan through Wagha Border. He meets an 11-year-old boy nicknamed Zack in the busiest food street of Lahore. After that meetup, Karl said Zack is the true face of Pakistan. However, I’ll talk about Zack in the coming part in which I mentioned Karl’s feeling about Harees (a traditional Pakistani Dish).

If you had the experience of visiting Karl’s YouTube Channel, you might agree with me that Karl came to Pakistan just for eating. However, it’s just a jolly perception of mine after visiting Karl’s channel. You found Karl either searching for food or having some traditional dishes in every video.

Karl explored Pakistani cuisine from Lahore to Karachi or from the Western Part of the country to the beauty of Southern areas. He had been tasting many dishes and made his memories with traditional food. By concluding his views about Pakistani food, I would say this; Karl falls in love with Pakistani food, especially street foods.
Dishes That Karl Rock Experiences:
If I count Karl’s dishes during his visit to Pakistan, I could be more or less 100 dishes. I have mentioned some of those dishes regarding Karl’s remarks. When he was en route to explore the food street of Karachi, he got Haleem, Dhagha kabab, Quetta Chai, Delhi Rabri, Dahi Bhary. And in the same way, he was in Lahore, and he got Hareesa with Roghni nan, Sardar fish, Paya, Spinach curry (Saag), Bila Pehlwan Tikka, Pan, Lamb Korma, Desi Murgha, Kashmiri Chai, Dhood Jalebi.
He also had experience with Alo Parahta, Cholay Paratha, Beef Kalaji, Fish Tikka, Garlic Naan, Chicken Seekh kabab, Malai Botti, Makhni Handi while he was en route to Multan, Peshawar, Muree, and Kashmir. There are many dishes that I’m not able to mention here. But one could easily understand how enthusiastic Karl was about traditional Pakistani foods. He got as many words as he could!

I’m going to talk about some of the dishes and Karl’s views on them. Instead of mentioning all the words in detail, it’s better to say those dishes with exciting stories.
Harissa With Roghni Naan:
Gawal Mandi Lahore is one the busiest food street in Pakistan. This food street has many delicacies and specialities. While Karl Rock had been exploring the Lahori Street foods, he got a chance to went Gawalmandi. At that food street, he had met with Zeck, an 11-year-old Pakistani boy. I talked about him in the introduction part. Along with his father, the boy had come to eat Hareesa. Karl also joined them.
Traditional Hareesa, in some way or other, is a little bit similar to Haleem. Haleem is also another famous main course dish of Pakistan. However, Hareesa is a mixture of boiled wheat, yoghurt, onions, chillies, minced chicken, and many desi masalas. Karl says in his particular video that he loves Haleem, which is why he comes to taste Hareesa. Zeck sat next to Karl ordered Hareesa for Karl. When Karl took his first bite with Rogahni naan, he said WOOHOO! It’s so yummy and buttery, and I didn’t expect Hareesa blows my mind. I can’t find words that explain my feelings about Hareesa. These are just words, but you can see his excellent feeling on Karl’s face in his YouTube video.

Haleem:
As I said above, Haleem is one of Karl’s favourite dishes from Pakistani cuisine. Haleem is a traditional desi dish that can be made with different kinds of Daals (Pulse) and mice chicken. Haleem is a mispronunciation of World Laheem (Ù„Øیم). It’s also called Saleem in some parts of the region. Pakistani special Haleem is very famous and tasty. A variety of grains, lentils, and meat could be the ingredients of Haleem. Not only in Pakistani cuisine but also Indian cuisine, especially Hyderabadi Haleem, is very famous. Karl came from India, so he had experience with Haleem before. But when he eats Pakistani special Haleem from the food street of Karachi, he finds it unique from other haleem. This Haleem is a little bit spicier and thicker than Indian Haleem. This is amazingly yummier and tasty. These are Karl’s words after eating Pakistani Haleem.   Â
